One of my biggest complaints in the gaming world is when publishers try to force games onto platforms where they simply don't fit. Some games are made to be played in your living room in front of a big of TV, and others work better in short bursts on a small screen. When games are out of their element, the results are often less than satisfactory. Such is the case with EyePet on the PSP. 
One of the main features of EyePet, both on the PSP and PS3, is the augmented reality aspect. You see your pet come to life in your own world, and while this works almost perfectly on the PS3, on the PSP, it hampers gameplay and actually makes you feel more detached from your pet. The game makes use of the PSP camera (which comes bundled withthe game) and a "magic card" with a big paw print on it. In order to work properly, the camera has to have an unobstructed view of the card, meaning you can't touch or play with the pet using your hands. By removing that aspect of gameplay, EyePet already loses a lot of its charm.
