How is this book structured ?
This book is divided into chapters, starting with the basic database concepts and information models in Chapter 1. Chapter 2 covers relational data models. Chapter 3 and 4 explain conceptual modeling and relational database design. In Chapters 5, 6 and 7 the focus is geared towards SQL. Chapter 8 highlights XML data storage and retrieval via SQL and XQuery. Chapter 9 addresses database security aspects. The book then concludes with an overview of various other key technologies and relevant applications that are increasingly popular in the industry today. Exercises and review questions can be found with most chapters. The solutions have been pred in Appendix A.
