Puccini's Cafe is otherwise the real article as far as its creative classicism - the 8.56-minute-long "Love is uneven" comes close to being pretentious without quite crossing the line, and all of the album is a fascinating solo departure for the guitarist. Released in 1993, when the band Focus was far the peak of its fame, Puccini's Cafe sold reasonably well at the time, but had been unavailable from the late '90s until 2002, when reissued it in a good-sounding CD edition.
